    Hi

Has anyone sent their child to a montessori school for child from 6-12yrs old. Do any exist on Southside Dublin? Recommendations.

In general what about making first communion if child is Catholic and what are problems with getting into a secondary school from a montessori school?

    Thanks

That school is only a montessori up to age 5, which it says on the front page of the website. After that it's a regular junior school. There are very few actual full Montessori primaries in Ireland. Drumnigh Montessori in Donaghmede is one and presumably the one in the Montessori Education Centre on North Great George's St is too.

The others are all just private schools who also do early years Montessori. Once the children are a little older they do the same national curriculum as every other school in the country. They may employ some Montessori methods but it's not really possible to be a true Montessori and still adhere to the national curriculum. I don't doubt they are all very nice schools but anyone who is looking for their children to have a Montessori education, and willing to pay several thousand a year to get it, won't find it in those schools.
