Un-used car [doesn't work] -What are my options?

Hi,

I have a 02 Punto which I didn't sell before I went travelling last year. I'm back now and the Punto is still hanging around in the drive way.

The car's NCT is up since November, tax is out and is not insured (as I cancelled it).

I tried starting it up when I got home in December and it's dead (probably just the battery) but was working fine before I left.

My mum gave me her old car to get back on my feet when I came back and I'm going to keep that - so now I have a NCT-less, tax-less car in the drive and don't know what to do with it.

I don't really have the money to fix it up and get it passed the NCT as I'm broke - do you think someone would buy it in it's current condition (good nick - inside and out), am I better off waiting to have the money to fix it up or should I give it to a scrap-yard.

charge the battery and see if it starts - some one will buy it if it runs and is cheap

If you can get a battery into it an it fires up, someone will buy it.
