Irish Painting Group

    Hi guys,

I am trying to start up an Irish miniature painting group. It is something that I hope people would get into.

I've never been much of a gamer and have an absolute awful win-loss ratio, but I love painting miniatures and it's the main focus of my hobby. Any hobby forums I am a member of, I always hang out in the painting and projects sections and I've spent uncounted hours on coolminiornot just scrolling through the pages.

Over the past couple of years I've noticed the increase in the amount "international" painting groups such as Team-Spain and Team-Canada. I thought well if they can do it why can't we? I'm convinced there are plenty of Irish people in the hobby who like me love painting mini's.

So I'm trying to set up a website where Irish people can get together and swap their painting tips and tricks, where they get their materials and provide painting logs and gallerys. Eventually I would like to maybe organise one or two painting workshops a year and the ultimate goal would be to organise a Irish team of painters to go to international painting competitions such as European Golden Daemons and Salute.

But that's all in the future, at the moment I'm just putting a call out for people who might be interested in getting involved in this. It does not matter how good at painting you are, as long as you'd like to get better at it or give friendly and helpful advice to others. If you don't like painting but know someone from your gaming group who does could you point them in the direction of the website.

    This is the website

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

    Hi WarlikeRogue

Are you posting this on any of the local gaming forums? You might get more responses from there.

    Cheers

Thanks for the responses lads. I am going to post it on w-ired.org but I'm waiting for my registeration to process.

Is there any other websites you'd recommend that I should post it on? I've tried to get a news article on coolminiornot. Apart from going to the major forums and maybe sending an email to Gamersworld I can't think of anywhere else to advertise this.

You could try the Northern Wasters, and the lads down in Cork. Some of them may be on w-ired, but they probably have their own forums too.

I know there are groups in a few different towns that had forums, but I'm not sure offhand who is still active and who isn't.
