Buying a new tv-avoid cheaper brands?

Hi,
I'm looking to buy a new tv,probably 42 inch.
There's some cheap ones on offer from the 'lesser' brands such as Evotel, Bush and Hitachi (Hitachi; not really a lesser brand?).

Is it advisable to go with a 'bigger brand', e.g. Sony over the lessers?
Just cos it's Sony doesnt' mean it's any more reliable does it?
My max budget is €600 but these seem like bargains.

I'd look at brands such as LG, Samsung and Panasonic over the brands you have listed, to be honest.

Check out http://www.powercity.ie/ and have a look at some of the TVs they have listed as "Irish Digital TV", or better again "Saorview certified".
