Is there a term for this?

Is there a term for a state of being where a subject has an internal dialogue, negative thoughts and anger but for social reasons has learned to fake good humour, placidness and a socially acceptable outward persona?

I'm clueless regards pyschology so appologies if there is a blatently obvious answer.

Yes, I don't know if there's an actual term for this but it is common and self-discrepancy tests look for it. It is a stress to keep up plus it keeps the person from meaningful interactions with others as they are not behaving in a genuine way.
