More Teaching Council Shenanigans

Has anyone received a request from within their school to be a Teaching Council rep/liaison for their school.

    What's that all about?

Why the hell would anyone want to do it?
Can you put it on a CV or something? Maybe a free teaching council pen? Free yearly re-registration fee to say I'm still nearly a teacher?

Madness, can't they just post us a letter/email to which we can bin or delete accordingly..

    Grr

I don't know anything about it but it reminds me of this :)

So we pay them €90 a year and now they want to get school staff to communicate their messages? They have a great setup there.

They've been talking about reps in their newsletters for a long time. They've been looking for people to apply for a long time. Don't know if many people have applied. I'd imagine not.
