The word "realistically" "realistic"

    This may seem like a petty annoyance but everytime this word is used in conversation by people it annoys me!

    My point being: people use "realistically" as a excuse to get out of everything and anything, its the ultimate killer of motivation/ambition and kills any conversation/craic with logic. e.g this guy i know who points out that "realistically" his coursework can't be done with a certain timeframe, you know he makes every small thing out to be a struggle, i only imagine how much more this guy would have done if he stopped thinking, and started "trying"!

    Does anybody else notice this among certain people?

    Realistically, no.

    No problems with 'realistically', I'm too busy feeling annoyed the misuse of 'literally' and the overuse of 'basically' and 'unreal'. 'Unreal' is an Irish-ism that really gets on my tits.

    American misuse of the word 'Awesome'.

    A volcano is awesome, a tsunami is awesome, the earth from space, again awesome.

    Front row tickets for Elton John in vegas, no sorry, it's just not.

    "Epic!" :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    And "Oh my God!". I overuse this and am trying to get out of the habit!

    I got that far before becoming annoyed with the fact that you were giving out about grammar.

    That's a good one, actually. I get annoyed when people don't pronounce the 't's in Massachusetts.

    I hate when people misuse the word 'literally'. It literally makes me explode with rage.

    Someone break out the James Joyce quotes.

    James Joyce quotes, eh?

    "It is wonderful to f**k a farting woman when every f**k drives one out of her. I think I would know Nora's fart anywhere. I think I could pick hers out in a roomful of farting women. It is a rather girlish noise not like the wet windy fart which I imagine fat wives have. It is sudden and dry and dirty like what a bold girl would let off in fun in a school dormitory at night. I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also."
