    Hi All,
Was looking about getting a TV from the states for to use over here postage isnt a problem its just that I want to know will it work here.
I know that the voltages are different but most electronnics work on dual voltage so should be fine. Also NTSC and PAL but these are also interchangeable. Is there anything else that I should take into account?
Heres one I was looking at
    Thanks

Would it not just be a helluvalot easier to get something like this

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/philips/56pfl9954/phil-56pfl9954

from Richersounds for €1200. They've a forum on Boards under biz->talk to
You could pick it up in Dublin or up in Belfast

I dont think there's any sense in getting a TV from the US, unless there's other reasons you haven't mentioned. Logisitcally and economically it makes little sense getting a TV from the states.

i wouldnt bother getting a tv from the states. the tv will not be dual voltage. a voltage converter to do the wattage of a tv (could be anywhere between 200-500 watts) is mad money. most US (ntsc) tvs dont support PAL natively. that tv is also 120Hz - which is optimized for NTSC (120Hz/2=60hz=ntsc) where we use TVs that are a multiple of 50Hz (pal=50Hz) 100, 200, 600Hz

phew, after all that - not worth the hassle in my opinion!
