Problem with my default gateway

    I recently was setting up a computer as a home server and ever since then my router has not been able to get a default gateway on its first attemt and i have to unplug it and plug it back in to get a default gateway.
    Any ideas how to sort it?
    I have tried static ips but to no good.

    What operating system on the server, what router, what operating systems on the other computers in the network?

    Widows xp on the server, and i tried to install wamp2 but it didnt work for me so i went with apache after that and still have a bit of a problem with that.
    Vista and ubuntu on the other computers and the router is a zyxel p 660 hw t1 v2
    Im getting the event id 1001 and dhcp client is the source of it in the event propeties
