    Hi all,

I'll be driving to Wicklow over the weekend to have a ride around the Wicklow 200 course. Any ideas where I can park and start from? I am not from the area and not too sure where I can park my car and go out for a spin.

    Thanks,

You'll probably need to provide a bit more information about approximately where you plan starting from and the distance you want to do.

Enniskerry can be a decent place to park but mightn't suit where you are coming from etc.

Genuinely not too sure to be honest. New to the area so don't really know what I am getting myself into! Thanks for the help!

I would generally head for Enniskerry but I would park up in Blessington (or maybe Manor Kilbride) if I was coming from that side. The Wicklow 200 route heads near enough to Enniskerry on its way from Greystones to Glencree and the Sally Gap. It also goes near enough to Blessington as you come down off the Sallygap (although it goes the other side of the lake) . How far do you want to cycle?

I should add that it's hard to do a lot of the 200 route in one go if you have to do a smaller loop. For example, you could go from Enniskerry - Crone Woods - Glencree - Sallygap but you either turn there for Laragh or Roundwood or follow the W200 route all the way round to the Hollywood-Laragh Road at which point you would turn off and go over the Wicklow Gap to Laragh - Roundwood - Enniskerry. That bigger loop is more or less 100km.

if you get down early the car park in glendalough is handy and you have a few choices of directions to head over the sally gap
