    A pharmacy question here : is it correct to say that drug companies will refund a Pharmacy the cost of unused and date-expired medicines ?
    Have received sharply differing answers on this point :rolleyes:

    Mostly no. But as was pointed out above some Generic manufacturers will take unsold stock back. This would have to be agreed on with the rep / company beforehand though.

    I'd say very little prescription stock would be sale or return.

    Yep, people don't really realise how important it is. An awful lot of pharmacy shelves are stuck with boxes of expensive medication that people were on at one time and are now not on anymore.

    There USED to be a protocol that SOME manufacturers signed up to that allowed pharmacies to return their unused stock as it approached expiry.
    The manufacturers stopped honouring it about 10 years ago.
