Just out of B+Q there and they are doing a dewalt 18v with 2 batteries for €102 - down from 248 to 124 to 102!!

Decent cordless - i've been using mine for site work for over a year now and it's nice and light and has a built in job light when you squeeze the trigger.
The batteries are only 1.3ah but will be suitable for the majority of people who will use it.
Really good price for this item.

    Thanks.

Be very careful with these sort of deals. I'm a huge DeWalt fan, all my work tools are made by them, but just cause their name is on the tool doesn't mean it's going to be ideal for what you want.

A lot of the cheap end drills offered in deals are usually just drill/drivers, and aren't suited to heavy work. I know a guy who had a DW drill and tried drilling 8 inches down into concrete to anchor a shed, and the chuck literally disintegrated from the drill.

I would be prepared to spend the equivilent money on a B&D cordless with a higher spec (Which is essentially a DW drill anyway, with a red case instead of a yellow case - minus the fancy schmancy sealed bearings) - or buy a proper high spec DW drill.

I got this drill a few months ago (and asked about it on boards at the time) for ~120.
The drill works perfectly at the op states, and the battery life is okay.
I would have used of for some masonary work, and the hammer action is what you'd expect from a DeWalt (better than most brands).
The professional 2.0 and 2.4 batteries are too expensive for a DIYer, but these batteries are ready to go after an hour charging.
For bigger jobs a €60 sds drill in Aldi is perfect.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Attempting that with an 18V battery operated drill is just silly. You need the power of a corded tool for heavy duty jobs.

Very tempting deal, if only I didn't have 3 drills already.
