Small dish size included means it is very limited in the satellites it can pick up. Do your research first!

On the other hand a small dish means a less focussed dish - means it's easier to aim it - handy when camping! Of course you will need a stronger incoming signal to compensate - so don't go camping in heavy rain or snow!!

As usual it assumes 19.2 deg E (i.e. the "old" Sky analogue location) - now all that's there are the German stations and a decreasing number of FTA English language. It should be just fine for the FTA channels on Astra 2 at 28.2 E (Sky FTA, all the Freesat channels etc.) - just you won't get the week ahead EPG (just now and next).

But but but....part of the fun of camping and campervans is getting to hell away from X-factor, TV3 and similar crap.

B&Q are selling a larger dish - with a HD receiver (BBC1 HD ITV HD).

Dish, HD receiver (Branded Ross), cabling, brackets included.

    50 Euros.

(Sat finder was an extra 25 euros if you need one)

Saw about 20 yesterday (Saturday) in Liffey Valley...

Just wondering. Could you plug this box into a spare port on a sky dish to receive free to air channels?

Yes - presume you mean for FTA channels on another TV/ room?

My Dad and brother at home are running one each off a sky dish but if that is what you intend to do, you would be better off skipping this and just buying a box on its own that has HD on it. You will get the like of BBC HD, E4 etc but no rte or irish stations. That is assuming you don't re point the sky dish towards one of the astra satellites or one of the others.

Probably - but I read elsewhere they were taking orders for them and will get them for you at the same price.

I had one in my hand - huge box - but I left it back - as I think Ill wait for Freeview/Saoirview - less messy installation - will be HD or thereabouts also - less stations I guess, but more likely ones you'd might watch..

Oh - and I know someone who got one of those camping satelites a few years back - he used it in his house no problem - it has brackets to permanently install it - worked very well in Dublin - very small dish neat dish - and picked up all the stations it was supposed to from two satelites(one at a time) at perfect quality.

If you just want to connect a sat box to your existing sky dish then there is no need to rush out and spend 70 euro on this.

A quick check online for an FTA sat box or a freesat box (note: NOT a freeview box) will bring up options on the likes of amazon for £40 with free shipping.
