Im half thinking about buying a bit of land near the beach and putting a log cabin on it for the summer months.

Im just curious has anyone here done this?

Would it be hard to get planning permission, Im guessing it would be easier to get permission for this than a say a regular house.

For anyone that has done this, even just any adivce at all (on any aspects) about this would be great.

    Thanks

    Gerry

Near the beach? I doubt if any PA would consider a log cabin appropriate to that environment.

i would suggest you ring your local authority and arrange a pre planning meeting where the planner will point out the various problems you are likely to encounter.

Gerry, as Muffler says, getting PP for anything near a beach will be difficult, I'd imagine.

I'd also wager they'd want something more 'indigenous' than a log cabin, even if they would..........only way to find out is to ask your local CoCo etc.

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Just thought I'd let ye all know that Im after spending the best part of an hour having my calls redirected and redirected I finally got through the right person and her view was the same. That a log cabin is a no-go in the vicinity of a beach. I guess that puts an end to that plan.

Thanks for the replies anyway lads.

    Really appreciate it.
