    Hi all,

currently a customer of blueface (using DECT + ATA/TA612V) but am switching to their IP phone (A580 IP).

Can I connect the A580 to my LAN and still use their ATA as my router? If so, how? I dont have another router and dont want to buy another unless I have too?

    Thanks

    W

    Who is your broadband with?

This appears to be a VOIP ATA but I do see that there's a port to connect a PC to it so it may support the new IP phone. Can't guarantee it.

So do you have another device that is connected between that and your broadband connection that would be a router of some sort?

    BB is UPC

basically the TA612 is also acting as my router. the ATA allows me to use analogue DECT phones on a SIP service provider.

the setup is cable modem connects to the ATA and then the internal LAN comes out of that. The DECT Phone connects to the ATA.

The new IP phone I have connected into a switch on the LAN (nowhere else for it), but it cant find the SIP provider through the ATA/router.

    Thanks

How many other devices do you have connected to the ATA's router? Are they all able to connect to the internet at the same time?

What cable modem did you get from UPC? Is it in bridge mode?

I have a similar setup with UPC. I found that connecting a Cisco IP phone directly to the UPC modem wouldn't work even with port forwarding. I think they may have the same ports reserved for their phone service.

So I bridged the UPC modem and have a separate router that is also an ATA (Draytek Vigor) connected to it and it all works perfectly.

The cable modem is one of these going by the image. So it doesnt act as a router

So the UPC cable connects to the modem F-type Network WAN
The Ethernet comes out of the modem RJ-45 and into the ATA
The LAN comes out of th ATA into a WAP containing a switch/hub
And all my device (including the phone) are connected to the switch

FYI, I can connect the IP phone directly into the modem RJ-45 and it works fine, it just wont work on the LAN side of the ATA.

on the VOIP setup of the ATA, I'm going to remove all setting, so perhaps then it might let the VOIP transfer pass thr'

How did you get all the port stuff working thr' the router? (ie port forwarding?) to the IP phone? I know 5060 is used, but then there are others? Thats my problem I'd say?
