I'm having the following problem with a SkyHD receiver - Thomson 8215
2.5 years old approx. I use it with a white FTV card.

    2 weeks ago I lost BBC1, 2, 3, 4, Five, BBC1HD, Fiver, Five US, Sky News, CNN.
"No Satellite Signal is being recived"

All other channels come is as normal. ITV, C4, C4HD etc.

Thought initially it was dish related, but checked Saturday, incl LNB and cabling & all fine. Performed hard reset on box - to no avail.

When I plug a standard old Sky Digibox into same setup, all channels are recieved correctly.

Is this likely to be a PSU problem, or a failing tuner problem?

    Any ideas?

It's likely to be the well-known PSU problem on Thomson HD boxes.

You can get PSU repair kits from Satcure.com who offer the capacitor replacement kit, and supposed to be better than the originals.

I've seen a few rebuilt PSU's over the years using Satcure kit and no issues.

These boxes were kinda popular with some folk, as it was the only box to offer HD over Component connections (no newer boxes have these ports).

    Thanks byte.

Yes, component is the reason I pought this particular Sky HD box.
I will replace the caps on the PSU and see what happens.

    Regards,
    Mike
