    Seriously looking forward to this, especially the following;

Mens 60m - Adams vs Colvert vs Holmes vs Russel. Should be really tight.

Mens 400m - One of the events were there is quite a bit of depth; Gregan will be the big favourite but it will be interesting to see what the likes of Crowe, Scanlan, Murphy, Kervick, Maher etc will do. There will be some good athletes missing the final! Shame Hesh had to pull out.

Mens 800m - Some superb performances already. McBrearty has the fastest time, but English has already beaten him. Anyone know if McIlroy and Big Red are running? The likes of Patterson and Lieghio can't be discounted either.

Womens 60m - McSweeney will be the favourite, but if Brady can capture her form of last winter she will be a real threat. Strong competition will come from the usual suspects of Whelan and Foster et al.

Anyone know what Mageean is running?

I'm way out of the scene these days but I'd be interested to see how Colvert is coming off winter training. Last time I saw him run (nationals 2009) all he seemed to be lacking was pure leg power to get out of the blocks and away. From 30m onwards he was quicker than anyone.

Leighio is in college in the US so wont be running. However should be a cracking race with English, McBrearty and possibly Tuohy could all tow the line.

Colvert is only recently back from injury so could lack race sharpness compared to the rest of the lads. Also given his focus this year we could see him line up in the 200m rather than the 60m.

My thoughts would be that Mageean will run the 1500m given that she her exploits over the past year at the distance. However she may choose to defend her 800m title from last year

Should make for a good weekend of racing

Womens 3k will be the top billing. Three women who have finished 4th (no other race gets close to having such quality) in a senior European Championships go head to head with hopefully Britton going sub 9. Will be hard but remember Deirdre Byrne got the qualifying two years ago at the champs.

mens 800m I fancy English to win, love the nicename the big red btw:D
mens 1500m has a bunch of lads that should go sub 3.50 but Paul Robinson is the man to watch, heard he went 1.49 fro an 800m time trail so expect something big.
mens 3k Christie a big favourite but Richard Corcoran ran a low 8min and has a serious kick.
Womens 3k is stacked but Mary Cullen will win easy.
Gregan will win 400m,just hope he goes flat out int he final for a pb.
Womens Pole vault looks liek a straight fight between Zoe Brown and Tori Pena.
    Highlights on RTE2 21st Feb @ 7pm

Could be some quality races in the 800m heats. If all the top guys are running there'll be serious competition just to make the final.

Anyone know if there's startlists online?

Cullen vs Mageean in the 1500!
Are you for real?that would be a class head to head.I think Ciara might have a better finish but cullen has more experience. My money on Ciara.

So events kick off this evening. The walks are on so should be a clear cut victory for Robert Heffernan. Reportedly he's in great shape so his own Irish record won't be too far from his grasp.

Not too many finals on tonight, but the 3000m ones are. Fingers crossed Fionnuala Briton can break 9mins in the womens'. She should face nice competition from Stephanie O'Rielly and Róisín McGettigan, the race will needed to be pushed on from the start.

    Heats of 800m / 200m / 400m / 60m on later too.

Ailis McSweeney wins 60 in new PB
    Dean Adams wins mens 60

Athlete of the meet went to Ailis McSweeney.

Very impressive running from her, great to see her hitting top form so close to championships. Listened to her been interviewed on RTE Radio 1 afterwards and she has a very bad cold and an ear infection so if they all clear up maybe she can take the Irish record in a couple of weeks!

Mary Cullen also very impressive, easily pulling away from Ciara Mageean with 300m to go! Underlines her credentials for a possible medal in Paris. Don't know what happened Ciara, maybe just a very long period of running with no break getting the best of her, she said afterwards she felt flat.

Brian Gregan set a new championship best in the 400m final too, winning by over 2 seconds.
