    Hi all,

I'm after getting a scratch (3 lines parallel to each other) right in my line of sight due to wipers.

Anyone know of a way to get it out?

    Cheers!

It's been done a few times before, did you search the forum for older threads?
Before DIY, ask a pro for a quote - might not be that costly to fix.

Yeah I did search but it brought up threads that had no real answer. Thanks for the reply though, I'll be getting onto them and my local windscreen company tomorrow.

Any idea if toothpaste works or is it an old wives' tale?

Friend of mine has a windscreen business and when i enquired about some scratches on my one he told me their was nothing that can be done other than replace it, i always thought their may be some kind of polish that would do the trick but apparently not:(

Same here because isn't the glass laminated? I would have thought there would be a way of getting light scratches out. Wonder would Turtle Wax Safe-Cut be any good?

Minor scratches can be polished out.

Fair enough but you also have to understand that a lot of people (myself included) would think that cutting compound is only good for paintwork, not glass ;)

I've seen people mention "Jeweller's rouge" in similar threads (but don't know anything about it myself).
