hi there, just wondering if anyone here is doing or has recently completed this course? i'm thinking of applying to do this as a mature student next september.

what's the timetable and work load like? the tutors? what do you know of the career prospects of past students - ie - how likely am i gonna find work after it!

any info much appreciated, you can even PM me if you don't wanna reply on thread.

    thanks! :)

This Linked in group is made up of a lot of the graduates of the computing programmed where they share information about jobs.

Also this programme has a common first year with all the other computing programes so it is possible to change discipline at the end of year 1.

I just finished first year in web dev and creative media in IT Sligo, It's a great course to be honest, lecturers are top notch. The only thing is that it's a common first year which is good if you know you want to do computing but dont know which stream to take. I already knew what i wanted to do though so it was frustrating enough having to sit through the subjects i had no interest in. The workload is average enough with a good bit of it being outside of hours work or teamwork, We were told that the guy who invented polldaddy.com did web development at ITsligo and sold it for millions. also a lot of people who did the software stream went on to work with microsoft among others. All in all its a great course and hopefully you'll think so too
