Why are threads being opened for each Dáil candidate?

Would it not be better and easier to follow if all comments about candidates were in one thread?.

Bundle them all in with a permanent redirect to the One Size Fits All Punchbag of the Galway West thread over on GE2011?

No, it's difficult enough deciphering bullshit from fact on a per thread basis, combining all of them into on steaming pile of thread would be mad!

It'll be over soon (less than two weeks)
Besides this way each candidate can be discussed separately, I'm all for it (until election is over).

After that we're taking a looong break from political discussion here.
