They dont chalk up prices for standard fare races until they are starting to into the traps, some even later than this, nome not at all!.
I went and put this to a bookmakers assistant at Harolds Cross between races a couple of weeks ago. I asked him why they dont price them up earlier to give punters a chance of having a bet and he just shrugged and says "Thats just the way it is".
Shelbourne is the same. Whats the point of these 'bookmakers' even turning up. Its no wonder they seem to be dwindling in numbers.

there is a call for a bookmakers charter to be introduced.
    .
There are already standards that bookies have to meet.
    .
The fact that bookies are putting a lot of money is sponsors means they are in a stronger position that is preferable.
    .
If you went to the right bookie you could get on as early as you want !
