Problem with Lightroom 2 Watched Folder

I'm trying to set up a Watched Folder in LR2 in order to auto import photos from my CF card.

The procedure involves setting up another destination folder (I've called mine Auto Imported Photos).

My problem is this. If I transfer files from another Windows folder into the Watched Folder, LR detects this and moves the images to the destination folder 'Auto Imported Photos'.

However, if I upload photos from a CF card, the files just sit in the LR Watched Folder and are not automatically transferred to the destination folder.

I can't see a reason, or a potential solution, for this problem in my LR How To book.

What's going on? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you've Enabled Auto Import?

    Yes, I've enabled Auto Import.

Otherwise LR would not transfer the files from another Windows folder.

The problem is with the CF card only. I presume Auto Import stays enabled after it's selected the first time.
