RTENL test card

    Test card on at the moment on Saorview with clock.Also a white bar moving left and right, i presume this is a test for sync with the matching test tones.Not seen this before.

    Back to normal programming now.......but they have changed something in the stream.....The radio channels have returned on my Philips sets :)

    radio stations were not working on philips tv's when we had it set to Uk.This problem now is fixed:D

    I wonder was it the language flag wrong on TV channel or RTE test (last station before Radio) stopping the Radio showing? Odd that the Radio only blocked if MHEG5 was enabled.

    RTE and Philips perhaps co-operated to sort it,

    Now Panasonic just need to fix their firmware. No RTE help needed. They know what to do to fix it.

    Language flags are unchanged. I think it may have been something to do with the Videotext pointer back to the main RTE Two channel (which seems to only broadcast subtitles in teletext stream and only MHEG text - no "ordinary" teletext).     Just goes to show this compatibility/certification business is a little more complicated than at first thought. I have my suspicions that FreeviewHD sets will have funnies yet to be discovered.

    We know two of them:
    Channels in 800s instead of 100s and 200s (no big deal)
    No "Analogue" text (EBU Teletext) on some UK only "Freeview HD" sets. e.g. LG 42LD490 and related models. (If TV3 and TG4 add MHEG5 text as they should, no big deal either).

    I still think digital text (or lack of) & audio issues on Panasonics are related. If TV3, TG4 or 3e add digital text it this might solve audio issue! Better chance of this than of Panasonic fixing firmware....

    Has anyone copy of mux stream at time of audio working on TG4?
