Second thread within 24 hours i know lol.

Anyway just wondering what you guys think of internet dating. I'm really giving up on it now. People are only on it for once off sex. From my experience people who say their looking for relationship or friendship, are not ha. In my opinion you can get a relationship out of em, but wont last long. Anyone else think differently, or am I right?

I first ever spoke to my boyfriend via Gaydar, although that was about two years before we ever met in person and he had to remind me of it :o

Maybe you could hook the crazy ones up with each other?

i met many couples and singles from certain websites and enjoyed it immensley and still meet up from time to time, people shouldnt feel weird about online relationships, some people just as confindent in public, and the people i met are as normally as anyone and im as normal as anyone,i refused to be branded weird just because ive met people through online sites

I'd be terrified to give it a go even. I've heard some horror stories that would just put me off it altogether. Maybe if it was difficult to meet other LGBT people or if I was a little older I would give it a go.

I've been doing the online dating for years. Have met a right few guys off it. Some were nice and it led to friendships and the odd time a short relationship, and I have also got some horror stories too. But as I don't go on the scene and there are no gay social groups or meetings near me, it's really the only way I'll ever be able to chat to like minded guys and see how I get on with them. It's a tiring experience at times, but you never know who you might end up talking too and where that could lead. I do think the pros certainly outweight the cons.

It's seems to have become more socially acceptable in recent years, with online dating sites being advertised on tv regularly.

I, like Paddy C, have been using online dating websites for years. I've met my now closest friends online and dated a few of the guys I met. It can be frustrating at times but if you insist on talking online for a while first I find that helps weed out those who just want sex. I dated one of the guys for over a year and the only guy I ever met in the tradional through a friend in a social setting kinda dealio turned out to be the worst relationship I've ever had! heh, irony.
