Warning for anyone with an Iphone on O2

    If anyone has free texts as their add on on their account they need to check their bill.

    I checked mine and i get charged for ALL MY TEXTS, 109 euro worth.

    Rang o2 and they said that this was removed from my account on dec 29 and that they sent me a text..............which of course i never got.

    Anyway check your ac/ bill

    Spoke to them and it was to do with contract signed in July for upgrade...............so anyone who upgraded in July, you know what to do.

    My fiance was also caught with this, charged roughly 30 a month each month from october when she got her 4!

    Sickening, they refunded her's tho!

    My extra was 131 including vat for Jan, shows hoe much i text:D

    But for those who don't look at their account very often, i would.

    The free extra should expire at the end of the contract you signed for it. So if you signed a contract in June/July 2009 for free texts then it would have ended in December 2010. You can get the extra reapplied though by agreeing to a new contract, of if you'd like to know your options feel free to send me a PM and I'll be glad to take a look for you :)

    I got it sorted today but i was under the impression when i upgraded in July and got the IP4 that my new contract would run from that date. Anyway i got it back dated to the upgrade date in July.

    I had the same problem with 02. I hadnt changed contract or anything just randomly they started charging from a month onwards. I reviewed the bills and spotted it. I rang them and they reviewed them and then refunded me.

    Am I right in saying the story goes like this:

    Under contract with 02 (free texts) -> Contract expires with 02 (no more free texts, we will charge you lots of money) -> Magic wand, sign up again for a new contract with 02 then all the money gets refunded?

    So unless your on the hook with 02 expect to be treated badly and be ripped off? Is that a fair summary?

    Hi Sheena, would you mind clearing something up about this, i'm on one of the old iphone advance plans with free o2 calls and texts and i'm out of contract. Under this ruling does this mean at some time in the future i'm going to lose the free calls and texts??
