It appears some idiot has tried to break into my car by messing with the car door lock with a screwdriver and has left a hole beside the key lock which can be seen it the picture. Just noticed it today when I was down in the petrol station. Luckily they didnt get in but what should I do now with it? How do I get it repaired and how much is it going to set me back? The lock itself is a bit loose when pulled.

Idiot is right, ffs that's a desperate attempt.

Will need filling and painting, unlikely you'll get a 2nd hand door in that colour, never know though, might be worth a try.

I've had this done to a couple of times to my cars, ending up with a wrecked lock and no entry gained to the car. Seriously, if you're that bad at breaking into cars, you really should consider a career change. And a vasectomy, preferably with bolt cutters and no anaesthetic.

If you havent got one get a steering lock, one that would cover the whole
steering if not half of it.

Similar thing happened to me years ago. Didn't have any problems with any more attempts on the car.

Do you have an alarm or kill switch fitted on the car?

Nah neither as far as I know with the kill switch. Steering lock sounds like a good idea. Filling and painiting sounds like the best idea, not too bothered getting a whole replacement door as its a 2004 reg Peugeot 206 but still a pain in the arse having to get it fixed. Any idea how much I'd be looking at for that? Would it be covered under my insurance with 3rd party fire and theft cover and would if so would it be worth claiming or just better off getting it done off my own bat? Thanks for the advice guys

    Wouldn't be covered I think.

Think it cost around €600 in 07 when someone did similar to my work Pajero Sport.

They nicked the Insurance Disc, obviously weren't ar$ed about the 6ft Fridge/Freezer in the back.
