Hi, I want to let everyone know that the Thurles Cricket Club has been formed.

The aim is to promote cricket in Thurles and the surrounding areas and to encourage anyone of any age who has a genuine interest in learning the game and would like to play it to a high level to join us and help us grow into a club we can all be proud of.

For more information please visit our website: http://www.thurlescricketclub.com

    Thank you.

I read Pat Bracken's book on the history of cricket in Tipperary. Nice to see there'll be further chapters!

I read that book, too. A wonderfully researched documentation on cricket in Thurles and was one of the main inspirations behind this new club. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in cricket from that era. Here's a link: http://www.tipperarylibraries.ie/ths/other/cricket.htm

By the way, Thurles CC also has a Facebook page.

    That is an amazing ad:)

Clonmel CC has a long established tradition of producing some excellent players and Thurles CC is looking forward to having what will hopefully memorable matches with them in the years ahead

If only they could have thrown out a few hurlers. Hopefully the new King Larry's will stay clear of the cricket grounds ;)
