Not sure which thread this should be in, bought a 2001 VW Polo last week, went out for an hr or so, was going fine, then one morning or two later, i couldnt turn the alarm off when trying to move it (in hindsight i should have just turned on ignition but was freaked by alarm going off etc ,sounds daft i know) numpty mistake, but that was last Thursday, (alarm went off for 20-30 seconds each time) then last night (had a busy weekend) car was completely dead, whats best plan of action, one of the lads reckons i should get a vw service crowd to take a look (it was last serviced in August 2010) and do a service anyway, any suggestions appreciated , was really p**sed off with myself for putting myself in this situation!!

Learner driver as well so feel totally out of comfort zone...

A VW mechanic will charge a pretty penny. Ring or visit an Indy mechanic.
Explain the problem, hopefully something simple.
