There is a new patch coming for modern warfare 2 for all platforms.

    Here is the info here
The latest patch for Modern Warfare 2 has finished production and is now going through internal quality assurance. This new title update will address security issues that have affected online play.

We plan to release this update for all platforms (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC). No release date is set at this time. Once an ETA is established, it will be posted here.

In addition to the security updates, this patch will also address a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map.

I swear its about damn time they fixed that exploit!! Although there are many, That one just seemed to piss me off a lot!!

LOL at fixing the rock glitch, suppose what, 8 months after the last map pack is timely enough?when people arent really playing it anymore? fail IW, fail. damage was done long ago when the game was still the most current COD game.

whats the odds they get modern warfare 3 out before they issue the patch :pac:

seriously though i know some of the things their addressing are out of date but considering the recent threads on how badly hacked the game is its not completely un-neccasary

Some of the lads I was playing with recently mentioned about playing the older titles again, and if this fixed some of the s*** that crept in since Black Ops then it's very welcome if completely late.

Only thing is they haven't mentioned when this will happen. If we get to redo some of the best moments have happened in private lobbies like one man versus riot shields team or zombies again then I'd be well up for it or James Bond in Estate.

I have a funny feeling MW3 is the only reason they are bringing this out. As most people like to replay the old game just before the release of the new one, I have a funny feeling IW are more concerned with people's expectations , thus sales, being soured by how unplayable MW2 currently is. I doubt they really care about the community currently playing it

MW2 hasnt been so bad with hackers lately, was playing it for a while last night on S&D and it was fine, people were playing it as they should be. Its still more fun to play than Blops. cant friggin wait for MW3, please please please pleeeeeease let IW, or whats left of them get it right this time.

IW are doing this to regain much of the lost cred after their abomination that was their game support for COD4 and MW2 what with MW3 due out at the end of this year.

As said too little, too late... and no mention of fixing COD4 for the PS3! That's the only IW game I care about.

One of the Machinima recently decided to play MW2 for old times sake. The lobbies are really, really bad.

Honestly, I would go back to MW2 if they changed it up a bit. There are somethings that it does better than BlackOps, like Search and Destroy. It's a pity that they do not just add a new playlist with some banned things.

I agree with the above post about it is only done for MW3. In the run up to MW3, IW will become under the spotlight of the Machinima team who will start playing MW2 again in great detail to showcase what we, the COD community, can expect from IW's next installment. MW2, a brilliant game with little or no care for those who bought the game once the money is in the till is not a good reflection.

Is there much patching being done by other games on the PS3 me wonders?

I went back to MW2 last month and have to say I am loving it. Was crap at the start with all the hackers but as mentioned there are hardly any now. Love it so much compared to black ops, absolutely no interest in going back to it. The only thing that kept me playing it was the "new game" feel.

Graphics, sounds, levels everything is better compared to black ops.

Blame Kevin Butler. He accidentially tweeted Sony's root key for the PlayStation 3. The key is what unlocks the Sony PS3 and allows the console to be "jailbroken".

That was the name of my roommate last year, the durty ginger :pac:

With all the M/L/C and Danger close / scavenger / noob tubes getting to epidemic levels I have stopped playing the game completely, picked up medal of honor and oh....my...god is it a world apart. So much fun, no mess acting / cheap kills exploiting broken game mechanics just good old fashioned good players. When you get a kill its cause your better or in a better position and thats it.

Sniping is ACTUAL sniping and requires skill but is still rewarding, your not only encouraged but rewarded for being a team player. I swear to god my blood pressure has been done wonders by it. I will still play MW3 when it comes out but if they leave these horrible exploit holes open for cockless little teens to take advantage of I will just leave it in the dust again. I would whole heartedly advise anyone who is pissed off with the dicking about in MW2 to give it a go and see just how arcade like MW2 is and how much more mature the MOH community is.
