The People's Republic of Clare

After watching the leader's debate tonight I have concluded that none of the muppets on show are capable of governing this country. Therefore I wish to declare my intention to secede from the Republic of Ireland and form a new People's Republic of Clare.

Obviously I can't speak for all of Clare, so I may just have to start with the bit of land around my house. Does anyone know how I go about the process of forming a new country?

Thanks nialldabass, interesting site but a bit brown rice for me. I was really looking for some advice on international law relating to founding of a new state.

For example, if Clare were to declare independence, what would the ownership status be of entities like Shannon airport or Moneypoint power station ? Could the new state assume ownership of these and start selling electricity to the muppets in Dublin?

I presume the Clare People's Army will be taking over these strategic installations as we speak and then of course, you have your own private militia, you do, dont you??? Do it, and the people will rise to follow you.

HaHa, a bit brown rice... this made me laugh. Trust me all the info is there for you, lots of law to read I'm afraid, there is no howtostartyourowncountry.com I don't think, there should be though:D. Honestly I'm sure your only joking but in my paradigm this can be a reality, but it starts with learning your rights as a free man, and you have many, your own country being one of them
Good luck and if you ever need a minister for brown rice production and distribution. I'm yer man

Ireland would have to have a referendum on it. That's about it. See what happened in the Sudan.
