Court case archives?

Is it possible to access archives, either online or in person at specific district/circuit court offices, of old criminal cases and their outcome? I know about the website irishsentencing.ie but this only has a select few cases.

I'm guessing, from my limited understanding, that solicitors must have access to many past cases since Ireland is a common law country but I am hoping that since all criminal court proceedings are held in public, that maybe a publicly accessible record of cases and judgements is kept at each court?

I partly think already that this probably is not the case since, as I understand it, courts are only held in public for the purposes of ensuring a fair trial and the availability of information after that is probably restricted by privacy laws. Would this be correct?

Courts.ie has most cases since 2001 in it's Judgments section, but be prepared to to a lot of trawling. Bailii.org is the best of the non-subscription sites for Irish case law, better searching abilities. You will find it almost impossible to get records of District and Circuit Court cases, local newspaper archives are your best bet there.
