simple.. a clear plastic sheet about 2feet x 2feet and put it around the handgaurd of my aeg to deflect bbs... wont look right and it would be hard to carry but if your playing indoors it would make a big difference
id say its a no but i thought id ask...

I believe you can use a riot shield in some locations, then again that could be for Milsim. It's not a bad idea with an attached riot shield, 2ft X 2ft seems a bit large to be carrying around in cqb.

The problem would be that you'd just get shot in the legs instead.

A strike on the shiel will still probably count as a gun hit.

And if it didn't, it would be unbelieveably unfair on opponents. At least a proper ballistic/riot/armadillo shield has the disadvantage of being bulky and unwieldy, as well as tying up one of your arms from simple tasks like reloading or accurately aiming.

If you wanted to be fair, build your shield out of cardboard...that way repeated hits will tear through it...as it would on a real shield - they do not last forever, and are not impervious...so nor should yours.

Riot shields aren't for 'milsim'. A real riot shield is made from polycarbonate, which doesn't stop bullets. Sites that allow riot shields are pretty much acknowledging that there's no tactics in play, that the only way to progress is to inch forward while getting blatted.

As for putting a small shield on your gun -- seriously, get skillz, plz kthx.

but at the same time, it is only a game

So is soccer, but this is equivalent of the keeper taking it upon himself to block half the goal with hoardings. Sure, it's still possible to score and there's technically no rule against it, but it's not in the spirit of the game.
By the same token, someone wearing plastic SAPI plates in their vest would be allowed to ignore hits to the body. Hardly fair, is it?

Well most sights will state that you can't bring anything onsight to act as cover.
