I think this is a real bargain but I stand to be corrected.

I bought a presentation box of "Hot Irishman (Irish Coffee)" in Tesco yesterday for 5 euro (in the alcohol section). There was a 350ml bottle of Irish Coffee (21% vol.) all you need is hot water and cream. Included was a coffee glass.

    Hopefully it was a bargain!!

Yep, that stuff is delicious. Comparable to some of the nicest Irish coffees I've had in pubs over the years and too bloody easy.

So basically it's a pre-mixed Irish coffee syrup that you add water to ?

I'd imagine out of the 350ml in the bottle, maybe 50ml is whiskey (and that's probably being generous) but for convenience and the free glass I suppose the price is OK.

It was developed for the airline markey to serve Irish coffees on flights.

By my calculation there is 73.5ml of alcohol in the 350ml bottle :) It's actually quite nice with a bit of cream - the GF loves it.

Not sure I just came across it on top of a box of carlsberg - didn't see a big display stand or anything. I got mine in clearwater finglas.
