    Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone has had a chance to play with any of the following

    http://www.starrainbow.com.tw/sr416d16.htm

and if so what opinion have they formed of them? Is it better to continue saving for a VFC and if so why?

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

I had one a while back, the external build was great. Thats where the love affair ended!

The hop up unit was dung. The range was poor to say the least. The motor is a high torque motor which i felt had a poor rate off fire.

It stripped its piston twice, once with it running a 8.4v mini battery. The 2nd time with a 11.1v lipo. Should off seen that comeing!

If i was buying a 416, i would buy the VFC. I have played with both and the VFC is a by far the better AEG. It might seem to be pricey, but you will save money in the long run.

Just to clarify, i am unsure what gen i had. I have heard that src have tighten up their products lately.

One of my team mates had a SRC 416 and had similar problems with it.
On the other hand I have a VFC 416 and it's awesome. The only thing that needed doing with it was a spring change, which isn't bad for a 2 year old aeg that gets plenty of use.
I'm bringing two guns to Senny - the masada (because it's my main gun) and the 416 (because it's actually just as awesome, if not more so, than the masada).

i had a src hk 416 ye the piston that comes wit it is crap. i put in piston wit half metal half plastic ran it on 11.1vlipo and never had any hassel wit it. great gun the motor is a monster but really needs 11.1lipo to run it as its super high torque.

gen 3 srcs 's tend to be rock solid , the internals are designed to run at 450-550 out of the box , irish one's run 300 -315 out of the box , the motors are crazy strong torque types

Currently have an SRC416.....for nearly 3 years now.

Was my first big purchase. No longer my main AEG, but still gets a run every now and then. Have had to replace 1 Piston during that time. Motor is seriously strong and does need a good battery to turn it over. Having said that, 9.6 2000mah in the PEQ box fits fine and generally lasts me the full day gaming....

Thanks for the feedback guys. From what I can see though most of you seem to have had the Gen II. As Gatling notes though, the Gen III are said to have significantly improved in reliability so I'm still interested to hear from someone who has direct experience of it.

I know the VFC version is top knotch but there is a significant price difference which will involve delayal of gratification. ;)

Previously I saw great reviews here on the G&G/Top Tech 416. Anyone know how that compares to the SRC Gen III version?
