Does anyone know if UPC are installing cable in Donabate at the moment. I've heard that Beaverbrook was done before Christmas, and have noticed cut outs marked on the way into Beaverstown Orchard and Close.

Tried ringing but they dont seem to know anything. We are currently served by MMDS(dvb-c):( and am hoping that we are getting cable:cool:

    Anyone know whats happening?

I live in Donabate and I have the UPC mmds system. I wasn't aware of any plans for cabling in this area. I would have thought that UPC would have contacted their existing customers to let them know that this is happening and to try and get us to accept their broadband package, etc.

To be honest, I'd be a bit skeptical that this cabling is happening here.

The cabling is being done to estates, there has been no contact with customers. Its at a very early stage, but Beaverbrook and Beaverstown have been completed, at least to the point of ducting into each estate, I'm sure more have been done. http://www.knnetworkservices.com/ are doing the infrastructure work.

I've heard nothing from UPC, I have asked, and they give me a call each month to say they have no update.

Thanks Fergio, I stand corrected. I'm down closer to the village so I look forward to being cabled at some stage in the future.

Anyone heard about the Turvey Woods complex - will UPC internet be coming our way soon? On the phone to UPC this morning, they confirmed that Turvey Woods has no broadband infrastructure at the moment. No mention of current cabling in Donabate.
