    Hi,

I am having my wedding in July this year and only need a weeding car for about 2 hours or less.
Do you have to pay full day rates fora short day? and how much arevintage cars usually priced at? I have gotten quotes from 300 euro to 900 euro. The 300 includes driver and champagne so I cannot understand this price difference.

    Thank you

There can be a huge difference in price especially for the amount of time you need them for. Haggle them down until your happy

You could rent a top of the range car from Avis/Hertz for the day for less than this.
Ask a friend to drive it and if you are going on honeymoon the next day you can drive it back to the airport yourself! :)

    €900 really ? what a piss take.

Every quote I've gotten has been between €350 & €450 with me being able to get every one of them down to €300 on haggling an agreed price.

So personally speaking €300 should be your baseline and if you can get cheaper so be it.

Yes, but Avis/Hertz won't guarantee the type of car they give you, so if they are out of their high end rentals on the day you go to collect, you could just as easily end up being given a Ford Focus:eek:

We're paying Eur450 for one car, but there's a good bit of travel involved, so that is fair enough IMO.

We were in a similar position and hired an executive taxi from ... er.. executive taxis

    http://www.executivetaxis.ie/

Although its more expensive than hailing a cab at the side of the road, the pricing is based on your actual use. In our case he picked up and delivered the bride to the church then later, brought us to our hotel from the reception (we'd arranged to give him a ring half an hour before we were ready to leave.)

The car was wedding-spec (recent shape siilver Merc 500), had the ribbons and a driver in a suit. It just lacked the complimentry bubbly . And cost us about 40% the price of the cheapest 'official' wedding Merc we could find.

When you book a car though you are paying for a car in a certain class so as long as you are happy with the types of car in the class you are paying for it would be a good option.

I looked into this for my sisters wedding and she is renting them from a local car dealer, €350 for the two 2011 cars (24 hours) an Audi A5 for bride and groom and A6 for the bridesmaids.

First of all I would like to say Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Especially the one about executive taxi. I have looked into car rental and I am aware you can rent one for 3 days at the cost of hiring out a 'wedding' car for one day. only prob is collection and drop off. and driver actually! Leaving for our honeymoon we have a car parking space booked in the airport (this was included in our flight) so it does not make sense trying to get the rental car back as well.
And complimentry champagne??? sure when your paying that much, more like included in the price!!! lol
