    Hey Guys

I'm thinking of getting on of these for my golf...

I was driving my dads Audi A6 over the weekend and when I went back to my own car I really missed the armrest

Anyone have any experiences with a retrofitted arm rest? I hope it wont be too much of an eyesore

Have you looked into retrofitting an OEM armrest? If I were going down that road at all I think that'd be what i'd do.

Ive looked at parts to do it online and they cost 2-300 euro and thats much more than Im willing to pay for an armrest.

This works out to be about 100 euro so a decent alternative I guess

Yeah I was going to say Theres a good few on Ebay alright, I was looking to do it on mine but I wasn't bothered enough to do it. I'd be interested to know how You get on ;)

If I wanted it badly enough I guess I should have got a Comfortline!

Yea I know, I got the sportline which I think is much nicer, just dissapointing they don't put in an armrest.

I do most of my driving on the motorway so comfort is a big thing

You'd assume they would, I'm surprised, I'm more or less the opposite mostly city/ suburban driving so I can get away with the baseline.

The armrest would be a nice addon for the odd long journey though, might look into it again.

Avoid the ebay ones! the are cheap chinese knock offs made from cheap plastic and the ratchet system will fail as soon as you put any weight on it.

Best bet is a breakers yard, those spurious ones you posted look manky!

Breakers all the way like Tossy said. Make sure you get any pipework for the rear vents too if you're buying.

By the time postage is added from the UK there mightn't be much between an Ebay one and the Scrapyard anyway. Like brennarr I'm kind of interested, I might get a price from a scrapyard as well.

I just retro-fitted an EBay sourced one to my hobby car. Neat addition, can't understand why I didn't do it sooner (I have the car 10 years!).

How long did it take, was it hard?

    http://www.micksgarage.ie/parts/arm-rests/volkswagen.aspx

micksgarage.ie are doing these for 70 quid.

no idea about quality of fitment though. like people said, id look for an OEM job from a scrappy first possibly.

    Hey Guys

I decided to go with this from Ebay

It took about 4 days to deliver and 10 mins to install

I've used it over the weekend and I have to say I am very happy with my purchase without breaking the bank. I think it really fits in nicely and has a very solid feel to it.

Here's the before & after pics
