Hi not sure if its been asked here but i am going to get my car serviced and i went to my local car dealer monkey see monkey do (the same make of my car) no i know the price will be higher any way i was just wondering could anyone shed some light on the difference on the below.

    Intermediate service : €150

    Full service : € 250

Have been told that i will get the full service for €200-€220 For being loyal
    typical Dealer stuff.

I have serviced cars before but just don't have the time 4th year in college to do it this time but would just like to know the difference?

Surely any time you save will be quickly used up by going to a garage and leaving the car there for a few hours and then having to go back?

If you can do it yourself and save 200 quid then I really don't see any better option.

So is the "Monkey" dealer a Main dealer or independant? The price looks ok for a main dealer, probably a little high for an ind. Does you car need a full service? or just need the minor service?

no it needs a full service at the 46k mark On a 08

Yes It a main dealer the car is a Tsi So think i would rather get it done because of the turbo.

need the fan looked at so i said i would just get it done all together rather than paying to get it looked at.

I can see the point in the time but it works out ok for me to leave the car as i have a lift to the college on the way but thanks for the comment

If the car has previous service history,it might be worth it to get it done at the Dealer and get it stamped, especially on an 08.
It wouldn't be as critical on an older car,but it may help when your selling.

And if you are based in Dublin, the AA can do a full service for 199

Thanks but I am in south dublin.

What's the name of the garage and I will suggest it to others as I think one or 2 have a service coming up and that's a reasonable price

Does the AA require a membership??

What kms have you on the car? There can't really be fixed price servicing for a modern VAG. There is fixed interval oil servicing, interval service and then inspection service. Then there are service items which are time dependent rather then mileage so the price for your required service will depend on your mileage and service history.

if you change your oil you will save around 50-60 euro its not hard , but dont pour your oil down the dranage or trow it out somewhere be reasonable take it to your local garage give them 5 euro to get rid of it for you without polluting :)
