    Hi all,

Just wondering about the legality of those small side of the road signs you sometimes see on the M50 (or roads leading onto it) or at the likes of major intersections such as Fairview where they're tied to the railings.

I know I often check out the website out of curiosity & suspect I would be in the majority, but how legal are they (want to do it myself if possible prior to launch) ?

    Thanks

On any motorway it is very strictly forbidden to put any signs up and I think the fine is avout €900 per day per sign. - This is very strictly enforced by NRA.

On other things such as private railings, its probably a planning issue.

Sometimes you see signs placed on Saturday mornings ad taken away saturday evening to try & avoid the fines.

You need to get planning permission to put up any sign. The reason there is more out on Sat and Sun is because the litter wardens dont be around on the weekends. There is some areas that the litter wardens dont seem to be and thats how the people get away with keeping the signs up.

If the litter warden see the signs during the week he will take a photo of the sign and issue the company with a €150 fine.
