    hey guys my ps3 50 gig model is slowly but surely filling up with updates and stuff id like to swop the hdd if possible?

    Im not sure exactly what I have to do any body got any experience ?

    whats the process exactly ?

    Be careful of the screws they can be stripped easily.

    There is a good article on: www.eurogamer.net which was put up yesterday. I dont have the link to it as the work firewall is a pain in the ass.

    I just upgraded my 40gb PS3 with this HD over the weekend - 640 gb HD -

    Just keep in mind that I did have a bit of a problem with the 3.56 firmware. Theres more details here. What I would say if you're going to do it don't format your original HD until you're sure the new has all your data on it.

    I taught the hdd could only be max 500gb maybe I was wrong then? That's a nice price for 640gb..

    I don't think you were wrong(500GB used to be the max), just that technology moves on and gets smaller. Pretty soon there will be 1TB HDDs for laptops/PS3s.
