I pose this question. The electorate is more than likely going to return a new government after the general election. So do you believe in the current opposition and their promises to change the way Ireland works will be carried out or will it be more of the same - carry on as usual.

Simply is this change we can believe in, or change for changes sake?

I don't know how you can judge "carry on as usual", since the last time the current opposition were in Government was years ago.

    So define "as usual".

The FF version, with serious widespread corruption and undermining of the state.
The FG / Labour version, with definitely some corruption but with their "as usual" track record showing that they ran the country reasonably well, starting off growth.

That said, there is an issue in that no party has ever had to deal with an economy as bolloxed up as FF have managed, so I don't even think "as usual" FG / Labour style will be enough.....it's like asking a firefighter to put out a volcano.

This isn't about FF Liam. This is about whether you believe in the change FG/Lab promise to deliver.

Are the opposition overstating the things they can do when they get into power?

I believe that they could well be, given the state of things.

The only true change that they could make that would have significant impact is to disconnect us from the ball and chain that is - in particular - Anglo's private debt.
