VW Key reprogramming

I have a 02 golf and the remote locking doesn't work anymore. I can get into the car by putting the key in the door but I have to turn on the ignition to turn the alarm off. This is pretty annoying.

Unfortunately I don't have a spare key so I can't reprogram it myself.

Does anyone know how much this will cost at a garage or does anyone with the right equipment want to make a few quid?

    Cheers

I presume the battery is ok in the remote?

Try holding the unlock/lock button for a couple of seconds, then locking/unlocking the car with the key.

If the key is just out of synchronization this should work. If you don't have a second key then the one you have can only be programmed with diagnostic equipment.

If the key is just out of synchronization this should work, if not then it'll need diagnostic software to reprogram the key to the ecu.

Cheers, I'll give that a shot in the morning.
