Hi all! Can someone suggest where is the best place to acquire memory for a laptop? The machine is a 5yr old Sony Vaio. I need to get a pair of 512mb SODIMM DDR's for it.

I upgraded mine using MemoryC & they were great I rang them before ordering & they doubled checked the memory type of my laptop before I ordered, the girl I got through to was very helpful + they are based in Ireland which is always a bonus.

A hearty recommendation for Shop4memory from me too. They're based in Celbridge, and great to deal with. If you're in the area you can pick up your order (a big plus for me- as I work in Celbridge), saving on shipping too.

I would also suggest avoiding ebay at all costs- the amount of false labelling and subpar products is a major hazard. You will often incredible bargains there- but you're as likely to be dealing with an outfit in China or Hongkong who are pretending to be here or in the UK- and what seems like a bargain may not be quite the bargain when you get whacked with customs and excise (or if the product isn't as described).
