I'll be moving to Galway for the summer and I was just wondering about the availability, and more so the prices, of Student accom during this period.

Most student accommodations are not open to students during the summer. They advertise themselves as holiday accommodation from June to August and the prices are much higher, especially around the Arts festival and Race Week. You'd be as well looking for short-term private lettings.

There is a **** ton of empty rooms around the west side of the city in the summer, rent usually drops by as much as 50%.

A friend got an ensuite room for the 3 summer months a few years ago for 40 a week including waste, internet and tv, only bill he had was electricity.

The room normally rented to 85p/w and was on the newcastle road.

It wouldn't be hard find out, don't worry too much, you'll get a room for €50 a week, easy.
