UPC broadband and analog TV

    Hi All,

Quick question UPC broadband and the analog TV service. If I get broadband internet installed will that allow me to receive the analog service

Basically I live in an apartment with no other option for TV other than UPC. (cant put up a dish). Currently there is nothing coming out of the point in the wall so theres obviously a connecting point somewhere in the building where they come out and connect up each apartment individually. If I get broadband installed, am I right in saying that there is no way they can stop the analog signal coming through?

The price of the analog service is 24.75 per month. I know its only an extra 5 or so to get digital but I would settle for the 16 analog channels if I was able to receive them by way of getting broadband, ie the analog channels would be there because im physically connected to the network.

Is this idea way off the mark?

    Thanks

The quality of the analogue is very sensitive to the quality of the line. Digital is much less sensitive in my experience. My analogue is never great and even when they fix it, it usually goes bad again a few months later.
