I have a tuft of hair at the back of my neck. Electrolysis would take forever. Is laser the only solution for permanent removal of hair?. Anybody know of special deals as it is very expensive I understand?.

I feel your pain, and would love to hear any solutions. I'm getting so down about my reddish-blonde facial hair, its mainly on my chin, I'm getting electrolysis that just manages the situation, not a permanent solution, just forking out money every 3 weeks :-(
I also have very long, noticable, curly (can you believe it??!!) hair on my jaw line, and its past time to do something about it. Of couse I was slagged about it as a kid so I plucked it and made it worse. I try to ignore it now, but its getting to me as I'm getting married this year and the thoughts of all eyes on me is wearing me down!
at least yours is on your neck, and can be disguised with your own hair? Not what you want to hear I'm sure. Anyway looking forward to hearing permanent solutions or success stories.

laser isnt permanent. Electrolysis is only permanent treatment according to FDA.

Hi 4Nothing. I really don't think that your name is great - wonder how you picked it. Sounds so insecure. I hope the electrolysis works for you. Getting married soon - just shows how somebody really loves you for who you really are. Is the electrolysis working and does it take many sessions? Walter Mitty you say that laser does not work only electrolysis works for permanent removal of hair. Are you absolutely sure?. I would have thought that electrolysis would take forever and they claim that laser removes hair pemanently.

According to this website there is no permanent hair removal method.

But according to this website, Electrolysis is better than Laser as the results last longer.

I have hair over my top lip, it's blonde though so I don't know if laser or electrolysis would work on it and I don't want to waste money. I've never used creams or anything on it as I am terrified of making it worse.

I've never had either, so can't comment really.

Laser has been permanent for me, well so far anyway, but I'm very dark. As far as I know, both are sold as permanent hair removal but neither actually guarantee it. Of anyone I know who has tried electrolysis nobody has actually stuck it out 'til the end.

On the plus side laser is actually cheaper than ever, saw sessions priced at 30 euro a time for small areas which is pretty good!:)

Electrolysis is the only medically proven method of permanent hair removal. Its been around for more than 100 years.
Technology is improving all the time and the pain involved now is minimal compared to in the past.
Yes it is important to stick to the treatment schedule agreed with your practitioner but it is also important to get realistic timescales. Ask plenty of questions and make a note of answers. Don't be afraid to get progress reports. ie ask your practitioner how your treatment is going. TAKE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES. After a few treatments you should see a clearance of hair in the area.
You should never feel a plucking sensation during treatment. Check out www.hairtell.com and www.hairfacts.com These are excellent sites which will inform you BEFORE you start any treatment. Beware of CHEAP or DEALS because you usually get what you pay for.

Electrolysis works on all types of hair, it targets each hair and was originally invented to treat ingrown eyelash hair. This is how safe it is but in skilled hands.
