02 Opel Corsa 1.2L - Sell or repair?

So we've an 02 Opel Corsa which has water in the front and rear drivers footwell - I'm wondering is this worth repairing or should I just try and sell it?

I reckon it's the heater matrix which supposedly is a grand job for someone who knows what they're doing and is willing to give it a Saturday afternoon but mechanics will charge you an arm and a leg for the labour.

If I were to sell it, giving potential buyers full knowledge of the leak, how much do you think I'd get for it?

Edit: Has tax & NCT til 2/12

How sure are you that it's coming from the heater? Is the level in the coolant expansion tank dropping? Does the water in the car smell of coolant / antifreeze?

Also is it a 3/5 door and what's the mileage?

    It's a 3 door with 70k on it.

I've been reading about it for the last while and I reckon it's the heater matrix as the heater does seem a bit funny and the coolant level is dropping.

    What ye reckon?

I got a heater matrix for a vectra recently and it was only around the €100 mark so the part shouldn't be expensive. Fitting them can take some time though.

Yeah the labour involved is what has got me worried as I am no mechanic.

    Where are you based?

The heater matrix on a corsa should take about 2 hours to replace so shouldn't be too expensive.

As above, heater matrix approx E100, 2 hours labour approx E120(we charge 60 per hour, other may be different) few euro for coolant etc so unless the car is in extremly bad condition as well as having the matrix issue then its a no brainer to get it fixed IMO.

Doesn't sound too bad - will give a shot at getting it fixed so!

    Thanks :)

Nissan Doc's view is more or less the same as mine. I'd get it fixed if you are otherwise happy with the car and it is in good nick. If you decide to flog, drop me PM...... :D
