Serial Number

Concerned at the number of bike thefts reported here I finally got around to writing down the Serial numbers of my bikes. Only thing is on my basso carbon frame the number is not in the usual place under the bottom bracket. In fairness the frame is pretty filthy and I could be missing something obvious, but I cannot seem to locate the number.
Any ideas as to where it might be hidden? Alternatively are there any pens etc that I can use to make a distinguishing mark?

    Cheers

#6 on your list. Very subtle just above the dropout. Fair play to any thief that can find that and grind it off.
