Does anyone know if i connect an iomega minimax drive to my mac mini via fw 800 can I then use its USB ports to connect peripherals as it has a USB hub incorporated?

Also, can I partition it and use 1 partition for time machine and another in windows format to back up my windows Bootcamp partition of my internal hd?

    Many thanks

No, the USB hub wouldn't work via Firewire. You'd have to connect it via USB as well, which I'm not sure would work. I really don't know anything about the drive in question though.

    Yep.

Thanks for that. That's what I thought.

I am amazed that no one has ever done this. Most people do not use the firewire port on their pc. It is technically possible to create a product that connects a usbhost chip via firewire IO.
