How to make most from a scrap car

I have an old (1995) car. I'm going to take to scrap yard. Going rate for car ie light metal/tin is £170stg/tonne. If I take the car down there and remove wheels only they will pay me the 170/tonne rate.

I there more money to be made by removing the different types of metal from the car ie taking the alluminum head off and selling to the scrap yard seperately or will it be more hassle than worth...

I have already took the Catayletic convertor off and got £72stg for it. Not sure what else to strip and sell.

I'm not looking to break her up and try and sell parts, just want to maximise profit from a scrappage point of view

    Thanks

take out all the wiring and electric motors and weigh them in seperately you should get 3 times as much as steel also weigh in the car battery seperately

You will get extra for the gearbox on its own rather than leaving it off with the car im told.
